What Is Baleech Card? Uses in Printing, Types, GSM & Benefits
What is Baleech Card, and why is it used in school notebook covers, student diaries and file covers?
Baleech Card is a material name commonly encountered in parts of Pakistan's printing and stationery market, particularly when discussing printed covers and educational stationery.
Schools, colleges, academies and publishers may encounter Baleech Card when ordering customised notebooks, student diaries, registers or file covers.
However, an important point is that Baleech Card is a local trade term rather than a universally standardised paper grade.
Different suppliers may offer card stock under this name with different thicknesses, paper weights, surface characteristics and prices.
For this reason, buyers should not assume that every Baleech Card has the same GSM, quality or printing performance.
Shaheen Printers & Graphics, based in Urdu Bazar, Lahore, provides customised educational printing solutions and helps institutions explore suitable printing materials for their stationery requirements.
Customers can review the company's Paper & Printing Samples, explore its Printing Portfolio and use available Online Printing Rate Calculators.
This guide explains what Baleech Card is, where it is used, how its quality is assessed, how it compares with Art Card and Bux Board, and what schools should consider before ordering printed stationery.
What Is Baleech Card?
Baleech Card is a market name used for certain card stocks in Pakistan's printing trade.
It is often discussed as a material for printed covers and other educational stationery applications.
The exact material sold under the name may vary depending on the supplier and grade.
Main Characteristics to Check
When evaluating Baleech Card, consider:
Card thickness
Paper weight or GSM
Surface smoothness
Whiteness or shade
Stiffness
Printing compatibility
Folding and creasing performance
Lamination suitability
Surface strength
Price
These characteristics should be confirmed using actual stock samples.
Is Baleech Card a Standard Paper Grade?
Not necessarily.
Unlike standard paper measurements such as GSM, the name Baleech Card does not by itself establish a universal technical specification.
Two suppliers may use the same name for materials with different characteristics.
The safest buying approach is to request the exact card sample and confirm its specifications before production.
1. What Is Baleech Card Used for in Printing?
Baleech Card is associated with several printing applications, particularly educational stationery.
Common uses may include:
School notebook covers
Student diary covers
School register covers
Educational file covers
Selected workbook covers
Other customised printed stationery
Its suitability for each product depends on the actual card grade.
2. Baleech Card for School Notebook Covers
School notebooks are among the most common educational stationery products.
A notebook cover should protect the inner pages, support regular handling and display the institution's branding.
Baleech Card may be considered for notebook covers when the selected grade provides suitable stiffness, printing performance and durability.
Why Schools Consider Baleech Card
Custom Printing: School names, logos, subjects and academic sessions can be incorporated into the cover design.
Material Options: Different grades may offer different levels of stiffness and surface quality.
Finishing Options: Suitable grades can be evaluated for gloss or matte lamination.
Cost Planning: Schools can compare Baleech Card with alternative cover materials according to their budget.
What Can Be Printed on a Notebook Cover?
A customised notebook cover may include:
School name
School logo
Subject name
Class
Academic session
Student information fields
School colours
Educational graphics
Important Quality Considerations
Before ordering, schools should check:
Cover stiffness
Print clarity
Colour reproduction
Resistance to handling
Folding performance
Binding compatibility
A finished notebook sample is more useful than judging the card by appearance alone.
3. Baleech Card for Student Diary Covers
Student diaries are widely used by schools to organise homework, timetables and communication between teachers and parents.
Because students handle diaries regularly, the cover material should be selected carefully.
Benefits of a Suitable Baleech Card Diary Cover
A suitable grade may provide:
A printable surface for school branding
Sufficient stiffness for the intended diary
Compatibility with selected lamination finishes
A coordinated institutional appearance
Example Student Diary Specification
A school may request:
| Specification | Illustrative Option |
|---|---|
| Product | Customised student diary |
| Inner pages | 40, 48, 56 or 60 pages |
| Inner paper | 68 GSM writing paper |
| Cover | Suitable Baleech Card grade |
| Cover printing | Single-colour or multicolour |
| Lamination | Gloss or matte, if compatible |
| Binding | Pin or stitch, depending on construction |
These are example specifications, not a guarantee of stock availability or a live quotation.
Why Cover Quality Matters
A diary cover may experience repeated handling, bending and contact with school bags.
Therefore, schools should assess stiffness, folding performance and lamination adhesion before placing a bulk order.
4. Baleech Card for School File Covers
Schools, colleges and academies use file covers to organise documents.
File covers may be used for:
Student admission records
Academic portfolios
Administrative files
Examination documents
Staff records
Student progress documents
Baleech Card may be considered for selected file cover constructions, depending on its thickness and stiffness.
What Makes a Good File Cover?
A suitable file cover should offer:
Adequate structural support
Clear printing
Suitable folding performance
Compatibility with clips or other attachments
Appropriate size
Consistent material quality
Can Baleech Card Be Used for Multicolour File Covers?
Selected grades may support multicolour printing, depending on their surface characteristics and printing process.
However, the result should be evaluated using a printed sample.
Calculate File Cover Printing Costs
Shaheen Printers & Graphics provides an online File Cover Rate Calculator.
File Cover Rate Calculator:
https://www.shaheenprinters.com/calculator/file-cover
Schools can explore available printing specifications and estimated rates before confirming the final order.
5. Baleech Card for School Register Covers
School registers are used for attendance, administration and recordkeeping.
A register cover should provide enough support for the intended book construction.
Baleech Card may be considered for selected register covers where the material meets the required stiffness and binding specifications.
Common Register Cover Requirements
School name and logo
Register title
Academic session
Class or department
Suitable card thickness
Printing clarity
Binding compatibility
For heavily used registers, schools may need to compare Baleech Card with heavier board materials.
The final decision should be based on the finished register's construction and expected use.
6. What GSM Is Baleech Card?
GSM stands for grams per square metre.
It measures the weight of paper or card stock.
One important point is that Baleech Card does not have one universally fixed GSM.
The actual GSM depends on the grade offered by the supplier.
Example Card GSM Values
| GSM | General Material Characteristic |
|---|---|
| 180 GSM | Relatively lightweight card |
| 210 GSM | Medium-weight card |
| 230 GSM | More substantial card |
| 250 GSM | Heavier card |
| 300 GSM | Heavy card |
| 350 GSM | Very heavy card |
These values illustrate card weight categories. They are not a verified list of Baleech Card grades available in Pakistan.
Does Higher GSM Mean Better Baleech Card?
Not always.
GSM measures weight, but card quality also depends on:
Fibre composition
Density
Thickness
Stiffness
Surface finish
Manufacturing quality
Moisture behaviour
Two cards with the same GSM may have different thickness and stiffness.
How Can Buyers Confirm GSM?
Customers can ask the printer or paper supplier for the stock specification and compare actual samples.
For larger orders, the approved material should be clearly identified in the quotation.
7. Is Baleech Card Good for Multicolour Printing?
Baleech Card may be suitable for multicolour printing when the selected grade has an appropriate surface and is compatible with the printing process.
However, results can vary.
Factors That Affect Printing Quality
Surface Smoothness: A smoother surface may support more even reproduction of fine details.
Ink Absorption: Different card surfaces interact with ink differently.
Card Shade: The natural colour of the card can affect printed colours.
Printing Method: The printing process should be appropriate for the stock.
Artwork Quality: High-resolution logos and properly prepared files improve the chances of clear results.
Single-Colour Printing
Single-colour printing may be suitable for economical notebook or register covers.
Two-Colour Printing
Two-colour printing can help schools highlight their branding without requiring full-colour artwork.
Multicolour Printing
Multicolour printing may be suitable for detailed school logos, photographs and illustrated cover designs.
Recommended Approach
Request a printed sample using the intended artwork before approving a large production quantity.
8. Can Baleech Card Be Laminated?
Suitable Baleech Card grades may be laminated, depending on their surface and the chosen production process.
Lamination adds a film layer to the printed surface.
Common finishes include gloss and matte.
Gloss Lamination
Gloss lamination creates a shiny surface.
It may be suitable for colourful notebook and diary covers.
Matte Lamination
Matte lamination provides a lower-gloss appearance.
It may be preferred for schools seeking a restrained, professional design.
Gloss vs Matte Lamination
| Feature | Gloss Lamination | Matte Lamination |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance | Shiny | Low-gloss |
| Light reflection | Higher | Lower |
| Visual style | Bright and vibrant | Refined and understated |
| Common use | Colourful school covers | Premium-looking stationery |
| Suitability | Depends on card and process | Depends on card and process |
Is Lamination Necessary?
Not every printed cover requires lamination.
The decision depends on:
Cover material
Printing colours
Expected handling
Budget
Desired appearance
Production requirements
A printer should confirm lamination compatibility with the selected card stock.
9. Baleech Card vs Art Card
Baleech Card and Art Card are often compared when schools select notebook, diary and file cover materials.
However, they are not necessarily equivalent product categories.
Art Card generally refers to coated paperboard used for high-quality graphics and colour printing.
Baleech Card is a trade term whose exact material characteristics may vary.
Comparison Table
| Feature | Baleech Card | Art Card |
|---|---|---|
| Material description | Local trade term | Coated printing card category |
| Surface | Depends on grade | Generally coated |
| Colour printing | Grade-dependent | Often suitable for detailed graphics |
| Stiffness | Depends on stock | Depends on GSM and construction |
| Lamination | Compatibility must be checked | Often used with suitable lamination |
| Common applications | Educational covers and stationery | Branded covers, cards, promotional printing |
| Cost | Depends on grade and supplier | Depends on grade, coating and GSM |
Which Is Better for School Notebook Covers?
There is no universal answer.
A suitable Baleech Card grade may meet a school's requirements, while Art Card may be preferred for certain detailed printed designs.
The correct choice depends on:
Budget
Cover stiffness
Printing design
Lamination
Expected durability
Binding requirements
Which Is Better for Student Diary Covers?
Both materials may be considered, but the school should compare finished diary samples before selecting one.
10. Baleech Card vs Bux Board
Bux Board is another material name encountered in Pakistan's printing and stationery market.
It is often associated with board applications requiring structural support.
As with other market names, the exact grade and composition should be confirmed.
Baleech Card vs Bux Board Comparison
| Feature | Baleech Card | Bux Board |
|---|---|---|
| General category | Trade-name card stock | Board material |
| Main consideration | Printability and cover suitability | Structural stiffness and support |
| Surface quality | Depends on grade | Depends on grade |
| Printing | Depends on surface | May require suitable surface or covering |
| Common applications | Printed educational covers | Backing, cover construction and support |
| Material thickness | Supplier-dependent | Supplier-dependent |
Which Material Should Schools Choose?
For a directly printed notebook or diary cover, schools should compare surface quality and printing performance.
For products requiring greater structural support, a suitable board material may be more appropriate.
The final decision should be based on the exact grade and finished product requirements.
11. Baleech Card vs Art Card vs Bux Board: Which Is Best?
| Product | Material to Consider | Main Selection Factor |
|---|---|---|
| School notebook cover | Baleech Card or Art Card | Printing and flexibility |
| Student diary cover | Baleech Card or Art Card | Handling and finishing |
| School file cover | Baleech Card, Art Card or suitable board | Stiffness and construction |
| Register cover | Suitable card or board | Durability and binding |
| Premium multicolour cover | Suitable coated Art Card | Colour reproduction |
| Structural backing | Suitable board material | Rigidity |
This table is a starting point for material selection, not a universal specification.
Schools should always review samples.
12. How Much Does Baleech Card Printing Cost in Lahore?
The cost of printing on Baleech Card depends on several factors.
Main Cost Factors
Actual card grade
GSM or thickness
Sheet size
Printing colours
Printing quantity
Artwork requirements
Lamination
Cutting and creasing
Binding
Packaging and delivery
There is no single fixed Baleech Card printing rate.
Example: Two Different School Diary Orders
Option A
40-page student diary
Suitable Baleech Card cover
Single-colour cover printing
Basic binding
Bulk quantity
Option B
60-page student diary
Different Baleech Card grade
Multicolour cover printing
Matte lamination
Stitch binding
Bulk quantity
The two products may have different printing costs because their materials and production requirements differ.
Does Quantity Affect Printing Cost?
Yes.
Larger quantities may reduce average unit costs when certain setup expenses are spread across more products.
However, the final rate depends on the complete specifications.

15. Common Mistakes When Choosing Baleech Card
Mistake 1: Assuming All Baleech Card Is the Same
Different suppliers may offer different grades.
Solution: Confirm the exact material specification.
Mistake 2: Selecting Card Only by Price
A lower price does not automatically mean better value.
Solution: Compare printing performance, stiffness and finished samples.

These are related but different properties.
Solution: Check both weight and physical thickness where relevant.
Mistake 4: Choosing Lamination Without Testing
Not every card surface behaves the same during lamination.
Solution: Review a laminated sample.
Mistake 5: Ignoring Folding and Creasing
Unsuitable folding can damage the cover appearance.
